Emily Chang, D.D.S.
Dr. Emily Chang received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Colgate University. She received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1999. She continued her dental education by completing a residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco.
Dr. Chang practiced dentistry in San Francisco for 8 years before relocating to the Boston area. She regularly attends courses teaching modern dental procedures and technology. She has taken continuing education courses in oral cancer, oral surgery, infection control, implants, preventive dentistry, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Chang uses aesthetic materials such as ceramics and mercury-free tooth-colored fillings. She strives for optimal oral health for her patients while taking into account patient comfort, aesthetics, and function. She is a member of the Middlesex District Dental Society, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. |
Russell H. Taylor, D.M.D.
Dr. Russell H. Taylor earned his dental degree from McGill University in Montreal, then completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of the Pacific. He is an Associate Professor of Dentistry at Harvard as well as the University of the Pacific. Dr. Taylor also teaches dentistry at the University of Hue in Vietnam in an effort to modernize clinical practice in that country. Dr. Taylor has received multiple awards including the Committee Person of the Year, Outstanding Resident, the Hanau Excellence in Prosthodontics, and American Association of Dental Public Health Dentistry Award.
During his 8 years in San Francisco, Dr. Taylor was the Team Dentist for the Oakland Raiders, Golden State Warriors and San Francisco Golden Gate men’s elite rugby team. Dr. Taylor is a philanthropist who participates in charity clinics locally as well as overseas each year, donating his dental services to the less fortunate. When he is not practicing, he enjoys glass blowing and traveling. |
Audrey Fernandes, D.M.D.
Dr. Audrey Fernandes received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Georgia State University in 2012. She received her Doctorate in Medicine of Dentistry (D.M.D.) degree from Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly known as Medical College of Georgia) in 2016. After successfully completing her dental school training, Dr. Fernandes went on to complete a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Howard University in 2017. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and Massachusetts Dental Society.
Dr. Fernandes is originally from Chelsea, Massachusetts. After practicing in Georgia for 4 years, she felt like the time was right to move back to her hometown of Chelsea! Dr. Fernandes joined Smiles over Cambridge in April 2022 and loves treating and getting to know all of the patients in our practice. In her spare time, Dr. Fernandes absolutely loves spending time with her family. |
Paola A. Buckley, D.M.D., C.A.G.S., D.S.c.
Dr. Paola Buckley received her D.D.S. from El Bosque University in Bogotá, Colombia in 2000. She practiced as a general dentist in her native Bogota while serving as a Teaching Associate and Researcher in Periodontal Microbiology for her school’s department of Oral Microbiology. Her love for periodontal research brought her to the United States to pursue a research opportunity at the prestigious Forsyth Institute in Boston, MA and later earning her Doctor of Science Degree in Oral Biology at the Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2008. During her postdoctoral years she published several peer reviewed articles about periodontal disease biology.
Dr. Buckley’s love for patient care and education motivated her to incorporate her knowledge of the periodontology basic sciences into a fulfilling clinical practice. She dedicated herself into pursuing additional training and completed a two-year specialty program in Clinical Periodontology and Implantology at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and a DMD program designed for international trained dentists at the same University. Currently, Dr. Buckley is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Predoctoral Periodontology Department at Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine where she supervises and instructs students in all aspects of periodontal disease and treatment. Dr. Buckley is very passionate about periodontology and dental implantology and is always current on the latest techniques and treatment services. She attends multiple professional meetings throughout the year and is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society and the Hispanic Dental Association. She is committed to providing excellent dental care to all patients. On her free time she enjoys traveling with her family and stargazing with her telescopes. |
